Tourists ‘Spend Most Money’ In Dubai

If you’re in the tourism industry, getting the best web design Dubai has to offer is particularly important. Otherwise, you may be missing out on your share of a huge income supplied by tourism to the country. Once again, the Mastercard Global Destinations Cities Index has ranked Dubai the number four spot on the list of places in the world which attract the most visitors.

Measuring the number of people visiting the country and staying overnight, Dubai only sat behind Hong Kong, London and Paris in attracting tourists for both work and leisure. While this is an accomplishment in itself, the report also revealed that tourists spent the most money in Dubai – amounting to £21.2 billion in 2016.

According to the study, reported by Arabian Business, Dubai attracted 14.87 million visitors last year, something that Khalid Elgibali, division president for Middle East and North Africa, Mastercard, puts down to the growing appeal of the Emirates for visitors: “With its relentless focus on continuously innovating its business and leisure infrastructure and offerings, Dubai continues to reinforce its position on the world map as a highly attractive destination for visitors of all ages and nationalities.”

While Hong Kong may currently sit at the top of the leaderboard with over £19 million visitors, Dubai is also predicted the biggest growth out of any of these top four countries at 7.7 per cent. Only Tokyo is predicted better growth of any city in the world.

Other UAE countries also faired well in this year’s list, including Abu Dhabi, which was the fourth fastest growing city for visitors last year.
